What’s New……

Over the past few months, I was very privileged to be approached by the Ritz Magazine Archive to create a new set of portraits, showing individuals who were featured in the original publication throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. This includes the iconic photographers, celebrities, journalists and those involved with the magazine itself. You can learn about the whole Ritz story and background via their brilliant website www.ritznewspaper.co.uk

The number of portraits are steadily growing towards a major exhibition which is planned for late 2026 or early 2027 coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the magazines foundation in 1976/77. The photographs are styled in a classic 70’s look with a plain white background, direct lighting and a graphic B&W studio look.

Some later images will be shot on location or may be more individually styled, but have a peak below for now…………..

John Stoddart - Celebrity Photographer to major Hollywood actors and celebrities

Janet Street Porter - Broadcaster, writer and journalist

Dan Donovan - Son of photographer Terence Donovan and composer/musician.

Iconic fashion and portrait photographer John Cater who was a major influence in the fashion world from the early 1960’s to the 1990’s

Another project already completed was A Portrait of Community - capturing a set of energetic and inspiring young artists who occupy a warehouse complex in north London. An exhibition was organised and shown at The South London Gallery. Check out the poster below……

Under stormy skies…..Actor Robert Inston on top of the 10th floor of a building right next to Whitechapel Underground station on a late moody autumn afternoon. This was a bit of a risky shot as we were very close to the edge of the building and it was very windy! However, we got the image of Robert looking windswept and mysterious and that sky was fantastic with location flash…

Had the honour of shooting Royal Academy world renowned artist Jock McFadyen at his studio in East London. It was a brilliant experience and is the beginning of a major new project capturing contemporary artists. See Jock’s portrait below. Check out Jocks amazing art at www.jockmcfadyen.com
